First invented in 1839 by William Grove, fuel cells supplied energy for the US and USSR space programs from the 1960s until today. Leading companies such as Apple, Verizon and Coca-Cola. are already using hydrogen to power some of their facilities and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles from Toyota, Honda and Hyundai are coming to market.
