GenCell Appoints Michael Tausch as Director of Sales and Business Development for Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Michael TauschNEWS RELEASE

Tausch is a 10-year fuel cell industry veteran with extensive experience in designing and implementing fuel cell solutions

Petach Tikvah, Israel – August 31, 2017 – GenCell, the Israel-based fuel cell power solution provider and manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Michael Tausch as the Director of Sales and Business Development. Based in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Tausch will lead the company’s sales activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and provide installation and system design expertise across Europe.

Tausch comes to GenCell from Mastbau Gartner GmbH where he was the Head of Sales for Energy Solutions and sold fuel cell UPS solutions and energy management systems. At Hoppecke GmbH, Tausch sold fuel cell systems and batteries to international accounts in Europe, the Middle East and Russia.

The challenges of aging electrical grids in many parts of our very connected world, make a steady supply of electricity imperative. In the utility, telecom, homeland security, healthcare and niche industrial markets, the high-cost of electrical failure necessitates a business continuity solution such as the GenCell G5/G5rx. In 2015, grid failures cost an estimated USD 110 billion to the US economy.

GenCell’s fuel cell power solutions are reliable sources of backup electricity that overcome the significant weaknesses of the most common legacy alternatives: the high cost of battery rooms and the regular maintenance, odor, noise and lengthy startup time of diesel generators. Fueled by hydrogen, the clean energy of the future, GenCell power solutions produce energy with no emissions, noise or vibrations.

“GenCell has a unique set of solutions and a commercial and customer service focus that distinguishes it from other backup power vendors,” explains Tausch. “Reliable green energy solutions are very attractive to utilities, telecoms and manufacturers and I am very excited help GenCell’s team bring them to the German-speaking markets.”

“Michael Tausch brings a very strong set of skills to our team,” says Steve Orr, GenCell’s VP Sales. “The German market is a key market for us and in many respects it is a benchmark for the power industry. Michael’s sales experience and expertise in installation and design will provide an important layer of support to our customers as well as our growing network of distributors and resellers.”

About GenCell

Fueled by hydrogen, the clean energy of the future, the GenCell G5 long-duration UPS provides backup power for telecom, homeland security, healthcare and niche industrial markets. The GenCell G5rx utility backup solution operates as a direct source of backup power or supplements legacy backup battery systems that provide only 6-8 hours of power. It also includes a shelter that is resistant to high-voltage interference, earthquakes and EMPs. Headquartered in Israel, GenCell has a regional presence and a distribution and support network in North America, Latin America and Europe.
