Is clean ammonia the next big thing based on hydrogen?
Check out this article by Hydrogen Europe Secretary General Jorgo Chatzimarkakis in New Europe citing GenCell’s disruptive ammonia-to-energy technology
Meeting the EU’s long-term climate and energy goals and realising the promise of the Green Deal means carbon-free power, increased energy system efficiency and deep decarbonisation of industry, transport and buildings…
…Hydrogen Europe actively monitors the “second birth” of the ammonia fuel-to-energy story. Until now most of ammonia energy advocates call it the “energy of the future”. However, it seems that the future already exists… small-scale fuel cells fueled by ammonia will soon be available for distributed power generation. GenCell Ltd, an Israeli company, is field-testing several prototypes with encouraging results and aims to deliver 5-10 kW ammonia powered systems for 24/7 operation to its first customers in 2021. The ammonia-to-energy technology fits perfectly under the hydrogen economy umbrella, providing clean energy users with a larger pallet of benefits and choices.
