GenCell GEMS™ – GenCell Energy Management Software – is GenCell’s suite of software applications that enables customers to optimally control GenCell solutions with maximal operational intelligence. We translate the expertise and experience from deployments of varied power applications into energy management software tailored to our customers’ needs. The software provides both a bird’s eye view and deep visibility to drill down for detailed tracking and decision-making across customer sites. It enables our customers to optimally control GenCell solutions with intuitive and sophisticated data analyses supporting a variety of power supply use cases. GenCell GEMS optimally monitors and controls equipment remotely in real-time and offers reporting and analytical tools for long-term continuous improvement, allowing maximum ROI from energy systems. Structured into hierarchical levels, the GEMS suite offers customers the flexibility to scale up from one to more units. GEMS includes three software applications, GenCell GEMS Edge, GEMS Charge and GEMS Community. GenCell EVOX is delivered with embedded GEMS Charge licenses. GenCell GEMS Charge integrates real-time data from all devices connected to the EVOX, accurately tracking power availability in real-time and optimizing allocation of the resources powering the EVOX. Our customers rely on GenCell GEMS Charge to optimize their equipment performance, using features such as calculation of hydrogen fuel levels in real-time, indicating exactly how long your system will run until you must refuel. And the platform can be customized to meet special needs. Power delivery just got a whole lot easier.

GenCell GEMS software suite was initially developed to manage GenCell’s broad product portfolio, incorporating three applications:
GEMS™ Edge, embedded as the core element of every GenCell BOX and REX solution to deliver connectivity, computing and to optimally control and monitor functionality at the devices’ edge. GEMS™ Charge, delivered with the GenCell EVOX to accurately track power availability in real-time and optimize allocation of the resources fueling EVOX. GEMS™ Community, a cloud-based or on-premises management software application designed for efficient remote unified management, monitoring and control of multiple BOX and REX power generation units.
Designed to interface seamlessly with EMS/SCADA software, GenCell GEMS supports multi-protocol communication, providing robust remote supervision and management. Its flexible architecture enables easy software updates, feature enhancements, and bug fixes while offering advanced analytics, notifications, and reporting.
Smart real-time energy site management software provides centralized device connectivity and management, controlling EVOX’s allocation of available power sources and supervising EV charging operations to achieve optimal cost, efficiency, and performance.

A. To integrate with different customers’ varied and often bespoke EMS/SCADA software applications, GenCell has developed the GEMS software to interface with these different systems by using a wide variety of industrial generic communication protocols – MQTT, REST API, Modbus, DNP3 and SNMP. Every industry sector uses different communication protocols and GEMS has been tested and proven to connect with the most popular protocols, saving our customers the need to invest in interfaces, drivers, custom conversion devices and expensive in-house computing services. Should a customer require another protocol, GenCell may develop an additional interface as required.
A. GenCell power solution users can easily access the device interface through a web browser to monitor system performance in real-time. The dashboard provides a clear overview of key metrics, while analysis tools and reports enable users to drill down into specific data and KPIs. This actionable information helps them make informed decisions, such as optimizing performance, anticipating potential issues, and improving overall operational efficiency. They can also track all relevant events and export data for deeper evaluation when needed.
A. The GenCell GEMS software incorporates a logic framework built on event-driven rules that allow flexible online, on-the-fly configuration to support customers’ specific requirements and needs. In contrast to rigid software products that constrain the customer to adapt their operations to the software’s limitations, the open and flexible GEMS computing platform can embed the customers’ rules and operational logic to precisely meet the application’s specifications. For example, in response to a customer request, GenCell imported the customer’s existing maintenance alarm classification rules from their bespoke control system into the GEMS software to enable the equipment to synchronize its alarm responses, saving time and effort and enabling the customer to remain in their familiar working environment.
