Sales / PreSales Engineer

Job Description

The Sales Engineer prepares and delivers technical presentations explaining products and services to existing and prospective customers; coordinates with the technical team to assess product needs and to determine system requirements and assists in the design and development of technical solutions and responses for energy projects.

As part of the sales team, this position works closely with customers and internal staff.

Responsibilities

  • Apply comprehension of sales requests, integration needs and reporting analytics to review complex projects and translate SOW to team;
  • Translate customer requirements into currently offered solutions, and identify equipment, vendors, etc.;
  • Attend sales meetings as presales and technical expert;
  • Identify business needs and adjacent products for completing sales pitches;
  • Attend various meetings and events to educate internal and public on the GenCell solution;
  • In sales pitches to customers and prospects to present the SW and HW via technical Q&A;
  • After closing deals, collaborate with sales staff to review opportunities for increased revenue by identifying upsell verticals and services;
  • Assist Sales in networking with potential customers and partners;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competition, and emerging technologies to effectively position our offerings in the market and transfer that information to the other stakeholders in the Company;
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop content, including talking points and research for panel opportunities;
  • Review and prepare written presentations, case studies and other documentation for sales and marketing support from a technical perspective;
  • Collaborate with product development teams to provide feedback on client requirements and product improvements;
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical |Electrical Engineering,  Computer Sciences, Business or similar (Minimum Qualifications) – Master’s degree in business administration, management or related discipline (Preferred Qualifications);
  • 5 years of experience in presales, post-sales, or product development- with expertise in hardware, software across the utility, telecommunications and energy storage sectors (Minimum Qualifications) Experienced using fuel cell products; Experience in utility and EV industries; Leadership Experience (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills,  adept at effectively communicating with customers to identify needs and help resolve issues;
  • A passion for excellence in professional presales, a “can do” attitude and a desire to work as part of the team, learn and grow;
  • Demonstrated ability and keen understanding of short-term and long-term sales plans with the ability to manage multi-task and multi-markets sales pitch;
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a startup, high-pressure environment to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Ability to multitask and successfully prioritize workload;
  • Target-oriented and believer in teamwork.

Based in the US, preferably in Atlanta GE.

Willingness to travel as needed, primarily across the U.S.
