EV Charging: Green Power to Resolve Grid Shortages

The Challenges of EV Charging

The move to electric vehicles aims to save our world from air pollution, oil spills and climate crisis. But achieving this green future demands an energy infrastructure that generates enough power to keep EVs charged to drive anywhere, anytime.

Today’s electricity grids simply can’t support the growing demand for fast charging everywhere it is needed. Expanding the grid, and preferably with green power, for fast charging everywhere is costly, time-consuming and not always justified or possible.

How can providers guarantee the clean, green, convenient, rapid, economical and reliable EV charging experience that will satisfy EV drivers, maximize cost and energy efficiency and protect the environment?

Green Power – Charging EVs without Defeating the Purpose

  • EVs were invented to stop the air pollution poisoning our environment
  • Transferring CO2 emissions from car exhaust pipes to power station smokestacks doesn’t solve the problem – the point of the EV is to eliminate emissions
  • As ESG policies and regulations tighten worldwide in response to consumer, business and governmental efforts to overcome climate crisis, EV chargers must commit to green power

Our Solution

With EVOX grid-independent EV charging based on zero-emission hydrogen & ammonia to power, you can deliver your customers a clean, reliable, weatherproof, 24/7 fast charging experience – anywhere, anytime. And you can deploy it right now, with or without grid connectivity.

Scaling Up EV Charging to Drive Down Emissions

U.S.
According to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) electric vehicles play a key role in decarbonizing the U.S. transportation sector, which contributes some 29% of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions – more than any other industry. While EVs are gaining momentum in the U.S., the lack of sufficient charging infrastructure is a significant barrier to wholesale EV adoption.

$7.5 billion are allocated to expand this infrastructure, creating an enormous opportunity to leverage innovative technologies that can scale up charging infrastructure to drive down emissions. (Source: eesi.org)

Europe
In Europe transport represents almost a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions and the EU is encouraging massive investment in EV charging infrastructure to meet ambitious climate goals. The EU’s unique 750 billion euro stimulus package targets construction of 1 million EV charging stations by 2025 and sync of EV charging, grid expansion and renewable energy needs with CO2 targets.
