COP28 Climate Conference Dubai

GenCell is really excited to contribute to the efforts at the U.N. COP28 Climate Conference to advance the investment in innovative hydrogen technologies to accelerate the transition to renewable energy.  Within the framework of COP28, GenCell will be featured on 7 December at the Museum of the Future in Dubai at the AWS Innovation Showcase. The Showcase presents the Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0 cohort of dedicated startups working to fast-track innovation for energy transition.

AWS Innovation Showcase

On the Innovation Showcase main stage, Rami Reshef, CEO of GenCell, will be delivering a pitch about GenCell’s strategy towards accelerating the transition to renewables. In parallel AWS is sponsoring an exhibition where GenCell will be demonstrating its sustainable and resilient multipurpose DC fast EV charging and backup power solutions.  Featuring presentations, panel discussions and Q&A from the wider Amazon energy community, the Innovation Showcase will be an interactive event. It provides attendees a close look at GenCell and other promising clean energy innovators dedicated to positively impacting the state of our planet by addressing the most challenging climate problems.

One of fifteen startups chosen by Amazon from over 460 candidates to participate in the CEA accelerator program, GenCell has welcomed this opportunity to get exposure across the Amazon ecosystem and at COP28. The accelerator has enabled GenCell to partner with established energy players and leverage their experience, resources, and global reach to mature and scale our solutions and adapt our go-to-market strategy for new markets. This recognition underscores GenCell’s commitment to driving innovation and rapid growth in the fields of hydrogen, ammonia and fuel cell technology solutions that are crucial to addressing the global climate crisis.

Women in Renewables Alliance

At another event at COP28, the Women in Renewables Alliance (WiRA) “Women in Renewables Dubai Dialogue 2023”, women clean energy champions gathered to discuss the promotion of diversity, community, and gender parity in the sector. Our Communications Strategist and Climatech Evangelist Shelli Zargary received a nomination for the WiRA IMPACT Certificate for Campaigners.  For a detailed overview of Shelli’s professional profile and notable achievements, please refer to the Women in Renewables Alliance website: https://www.womeninrenewables.org/cop28. Positioned among esteemed women industry leaders, Shelli’s nomination marks a significant step in advancing the gender-energy nexus and recognizes her and GenCell’s outstanding contributions to the renewable energy sector and commitment to driving positive change towards a green future.

Hydrogen Targets at COP28

GenCell is pleased to see that the UN, national and business leaders from around the globe, from G20 through to developing nations, have come together at COP28 to reach bold decisions and drive pragmatic action.  At this COP, led by Dr Sultan Al Jaber and his team in the UAE, the leadership has designated ambitious targets to drive the still underdeveloped green hydrogen economy to realize its potential. As indicated by the IEA, the hydrogen economy can complement renewable energy solutions crucial to the energy transition with innovative technologies for energy generation, transport and storage as well as for decarbonization across industry sectors. The pace of development of the global hydrogen economy largely depends on the growth of demand from off-takers with divergent use cases in industry, transport, power generation and more. Alongside our advanced R&D activities aiming to evolve our long-term GreenFSG vision, today GenCell offers commercially available solutions for diverse off-takers that support a variety of use cases looking to utilize hydrogen to achieve their resilient and sustainable power objectives.

—Welcome to the new gold standard for a sustainable energy future.
