Israeli Electricity Authority Approves Continuous Backup Power Microgrid Solution based on the GenCell G5 Long-Duration UPS for Mission-Critical Facilities
Petah Tikva, Israel – January 11, 2021 – GenCell Energy, GNCL (TASE), a leading Israel-based manufacturer of fuel cell energy solutions, today announces the completion of a proof of concept (POC) backup power project incorporating remote monitoring of backup power in a microgrid configuration (small, local electricity networks enabling a smart electricity grid) at a mission-critical field site. The project has been commissioned upon receiving a permit from the State of Israel’s Electric Authority authorizing operation of the solution at a mission-critical facility; this constitutes the first such permit in Israel for a power generator that is fueled by hydrogen. The Company is taking action to market this solution to its prospective customers in Israel and around the world.
